The following items related to gem and jewelry industry are prohibited or restricted to be export from Sri Lanka.

• Ivory - Prohibited
• Items made using Turtle Shells or Coral - Prohibited
• Ornaments produced out of Ivory - Prohibited
• Handicrafts and ornaments of ebony - Restricted (exports allowed on a permit issued by the Department of Forest Conservation)
